A Welsh Locomotive in America

St. V at Union Station

Lately I’ve been working to improve and expand the listings on my Etsy shop (link in the menu), and part of the process is creating a line of greeting cards I plan to release in the near future. I drew this little engine for the Valentine’s Day card, as implied by the engine’s name. (The photo behind him won’t appear on the card). St. Valentine’s design is based on the iconic Quarry Hunslet family of locomotives, which are among my favorites. Though the picture behind the Saint is of an American location, the original Quarry Hunslets were Welsh, working mostly at Dinorwic Quarry and the nearby port.
